A Different take on a very popular cult classic romance movie ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’

JESSIE: I love you Karthik, but I don’t want this as I don’t want any hurdles.

KARTHIK: I Understand Jessie…let us be a good friends and move on.

They shake their hands…

Jessie leaves…

Karthik look at her back…*Mannipaayaa BGM*

Karthik’s mind voice: Kaadhala theadi poga kudaaddhu,, athuvaa nadakanum, unna pottu thaakanum, thala kizha pottu thirupanum (We should not search for love, that should happen, has to strike you, should baffle you).

Written and Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Place yourself in the place of Jessie and Karthik.

As Karthik, would you understand the situation, show the maturity and move on. Although there could be a ‘Omanappenne’ once in a while in your memories.

As Jessie, would you be able to love again and live a life without any regrets or thoughts on what could have been?

Let’s leave these questions open- ended.

Anyone who might read this would think, what made him write this, is it a message to someone, is it a life experience that he is sharing, or is it the valentine’s day hitting his creative impulses?

None of these.

I was motivated to write this so that people who read would understand the power of moving on. Some things in life may not turn out the way we would like to, but it is up to us to not remain in that place and move on. Over the last year, I have heard a lot of suicide attempts, killing in name of love and what not via news.

If you truly love someone, let them go, set them free, if he/she is meant to be yours, it will be.

PS: Readers, you guessed right, am still single!
